Default what else do i need

i have a the cam in my sig.... what else do i need to intall it... i have rods and the 98-02 LS1 Patriot "Gold" Dual Valve Spring Kit... is there any thing elst that i have to have to put this cam in... thanks...

neither, timing chain cover gasket, new crank pulley bolt, etc, etc

go to SDPC2000.com they are a sponsor here, if you look around in the LS section you can find a gasket kit for cam swaps

here are some suggestions - some are required, some are optional...I'm doing mine this weekend and will be using every part listed below...do it once, do all the right parts, and be confident you did everything you needed to Good luck!

optional = *

2 pen magnets
Antifreeze (1 jug) Dexcool
Distilled Water (2 jugs)
Syn Oil (7 qrts)
Conv Oil (7 qrts)
Oil Filter (2)
*5/16" or 1/4" Wooden Dowels (Lifter Holder)
Timing Chain (LS2)
*Oil Pump (LS6)
Bolt and Gasket Kit
*Water Pump (OEM) - depending on miles
Valve Spring Compressor
Locktite (Red - Medium)
Pulley Puller (RENTAL)
High Temp RTV Sealant
Anti-seize
*Retainer Locks (10 Extra)
*Oil Pump O-Ring (2)
Pulley Install Tool

geese...dual valve springs for that little of a cam.

but the list above looks pretty good. a few things ill add to it are:

By saying "rod" i guessing you mean pushrod??, if not you will need those
New retainers
Pick up some extra locks(keepers), you will loose some. trust me. they are only like $1 a piece anyway.

^ why would he need new retainers? I just planned on using the ones that are already on my current setup (which is stock retainers)...am I missing something? Thanks!

^they arent "needed" but alot of poeple like to get new ones when installing a cam. or even upgrade to titanium retainers.

This kit includes Patriot "Gold" Dual Springs, Titanium Retainers, Machined bases (seats), Super 7 Locks, & Viton Rubber Seals. plus Trick Flow Chromemoly Pushrods and cam.... this is all that i have right now... and thanks for the help

you should be good then. just look over the list above and pick up the various tools and fluids you will need. Also you might want to think about replacing the oil pump and timing chain as well, expecially if your car is higher milage.
