Problem: Low Oil Pressure and LOUD Knocking! HELP!
hey guys, i've got bad news
About two weeks ago, i had a faint knocking noise and didn't think much of it. During that time I noticed I had lower than normal oil pressure, around 35 at idle compared to 40. Last week I drove home from work and it was extremely loud! I didn't think I would make it all the way back home, it was that bad. Luckily, I live only 5-10 minutes from work. Oh yea, and on that day, I had really low oil pressure, around 20 at idle! I took it home and the oil was non existant, it was at the bottom of the pick-up tube! Did I burn my oil? Anyways, what can it be? Spun Bearing?
Another Question:
I bought the car in July 2005 with an extended 5 year warranty, will it still be covered?
What is the worst case scenario? Is my motor complelty compromised or will it be all good once I get the problem fixed? I am worried about the motor being oil deprived. I am also worried about this because in the summer, I am going to install LS6 Heads with a G5X3 Cam.
Thanx a billion

By the way your gonna need proof that you got your oil changed by a shop.. Like a reciept so you might wanna get one somewere.. My brother did the same thing in his stang. But our dad has his own shop so he just wrote some BS reciepts so we could get it fixed free.

i agree with forging it.and you may not want to hear this but your crank may be toast also.i just started mine twice to drive onto a trailer and the crank is beyond repair.anyways with forged internals you don't have to worry about a rod letting loose or a piston cracking or worse even busting.forge it and jug it.
