Default Mr. Moly Engine Oil Modifier (first impressions...)

WOW!!! I love this stuff. Should have kept the empty can so I could sleep with it tonight!

First impressions? Well, dropped my oil temperature by 9* (by AutoTAP), right off the bat. Pretty conclusive proof that it's modifying friction somehow. Engine seems to idle better and feels a lot smoother too, but that could all be in my head. So far I am NOT disappointed in this product at all, great value for only $8.95. Of course, you do have to special order it.

Moly definitely will reduce the friction in your engine. I'm glad that you'll be doing oil analysis, I want to see how this additive affects the balance of your oil. Did you put in a full bottle or did you go with a half bottle instead?

I did a full bottle (300ml) to the difference of a full 6L of Mobile 1 10W-30 full synthetic which brought my total percent moly to ~5.57%. The manufactuer recommends 5-10% total. I decided to stay near to low side. I am going to run this oil for 4K miles and then do the analysis. This will include a wide range or driving styles and climates. Not to mention a trip across the country from CT to WA! Expect analysis results by mid-November.

THis is the second favorable review of this product I've seen. A thread on another LS1 UBB claimed that Mr. Moly helped lower his coolant temps as well as his oil temps!

How does one go about ordering this stuff?

You might be able to find this product in the stores. UP here in Canada it is sold under the name Molyslip and can be found in Canadian Tire.

If you check out the BOBISTHEOILGUY home page too, Schaeffer oil also sells a moly supplement too.

If this doesn't turn out to be snake oil, that's an amazing result and worth the money, so long as the oil temps are high enough burn off the other crap.

This is where I bought mine. What you want is the Engine-Aide: http://www.mrmoly.com/engine-aide.html, online ordering is the way to go! It was at my door 4 days after the order was placed!
