I have a 6.0 lq4 motor in my 2000 z28, i was wondering if i need to upgrade the timing chain and the oil pump or will the stock parts be fine? cam is a 236/242 613 612 on a 112 or 114! if i buy the timing chain will i need the whole timing set or just the ls2 timing chain by itself? which ported oil pump do u all recommend? thanks in advance!

Id at least put the LS2 chain on if you already have it apart. You want need the sprockets just the chain. As far as the oil pump goes, I personally like the melling (spelling) ported pump.

ITs a good insurance measure for what (like 200 bucks). Your spending all this time and money why not. I bought an SA Gear double roller and it is a pretty cool piece. I think your oil pump might be sufficient though. I put on just a standard ls6 and it works awesome.

At least an LS2 chain. Sprockets would only be imperative if they look worn, but I would probably do it just for peace of mind. If you feel up to it, put in a ported pump with higher pressure spring.
