Default 1.7 roller rockers worth it???

im thinking about buying some cheap 1.7 rockers for my 99 vette. not sure if its even worth buying. im not trying to spend much on them, just trying to stiffen up and lighten the valve train.
i found some on ebay that were stainles steel for only $200 full roller.
and another set that is aluminum for the same price.
im puting in a cam here soon along with springs and all that.

so sould i just stick with stock or go for one of these cheap ones?

Your stock rockers are 1.7 ratio save your money and keep the stockers

Also you will have trouble finding an aftermarket rocker that is lighter than the stock rockers

don't mess with the rockers unless there is no way around it. A local guy just got done building his procharged T/A & had to remove the aftermarket 1.7 rockers to get the car to run right. Ended up puttin the stockers back on & made over 600 RWHP with no problem. Thats enough to convince me to keep with the stockers, maybe get a new set from GM if need be.

Could have Harland Sharp rebuild your stockers to keep them bearings in there!

yea! you got the 1.7 rockers. now if you are going with a close to .600 lift or higher then i would look into having HS work on rocker trunions or upgrade to aluminum rocker. preferably HS or YT. .02

i hate how sellers on ebay use crap like that to sell parts. most people have no idea they already have 1.7 rockers in the LS1 and are thinking 1.5 like in older engines and buy them thinking that they help
