Default Anyone drive long distances with big cam?

I just bought a cam from vengeance and wanted to take my car to TX to whoop on some imports and fords over there, but then I thought about it, if it's a good idea to drive 12hrs with this cam? Good idea or no.

There should not be any issues while driving it there. I dove my cammed car to Monroe and back twice a week for 4 months. That was around a 4 to 5 hour drive for me from Prairieville.

I would say that might actually be easier on the motor because think about it. In every day driving, you do 3,000 miles of turning the car on and off, flooring it, running through the gears, cruising, and stop and go traffic. With a road trip, it's 85% or more (depending on driving habbits) of cruising and the motor not doing anything more than maintaining speed.

If your car is tuned, it is fine.

I drove my 228/236 114 untuned cam from detroit to Los Angeles and back without a problem, and like I say it was untuned and even beating the hell out of it, there was no problems-except the crappy cali gas, I had to run premium all the time in that state otherwise the car ran like crap.

The only real problem was dealing with the surging, but that was only at very low speeds such as 5-10 mph. Freeway driving was a breeze.

I've done a few roadtrips w/ the TR224 but was curious about this bigger cam would be ok for a road trip. Car scene in TX is big anywhere in that state. I know cuz I'm from TX(FT. Worth).
