Are Comp XR lobes still good?
I'm looking at a comp 228/230 .571/.573 on a 112LSA with their XR lobe...Is this grind still as good as the same cam but with XER lobes? Is this cam still a proven performer and will i make good low end power? Also what is the rpm range for this cam and where does power peek?

It's confusing because there's XE lobes and XE-R lobes. The XE-R's are more aggressive and a little harder on the springs IIRC. The XE lobes won't open the valves as fast because it's a less aggressive ramp rate, which will affect power under the curve.
Did I get it right, Predator?

Great Tq from 3000-5500 rpm

You should check the dyno section, check the sponsor websites, etc. There are dyno sheets and numbers posted for many, many setups. I'm sure a little looking could answer a lot of these types of questions.

I have that exact cam that you are asking about. I really like it. It seems to have stock power down low and come on hard about 3k. I haven't got it dynoed yet but will this summer when the shop gets their dyno all set up. My mail order tune is getting me by but I think I will get alot more power yet after the real tune.
