Default Has anyone tested the p/v clearance changes w/ Yella Terras?

I'm hoping with all these installs lately someone has measured the difference in p/v with the Yella Terras vs. the stock rockers.

I'm really nervous putting these things in considering I only have .085 p/v clearance to start with.

there will only be a change of a couple of thousands of an inch if you are using the same ratio (Yella Terras won't flex like the stock ones). If you go to 1.8:1 ratio then you need to calculate the new lift at the rocker, eg say your current rocker lift is .561 with 1.7:1 rockers then your lift with 1.8:1 rockers will be .594 or an increase of .033"

That's what I'm hoping for, but all it takes is anything more the five thousandths to ruin my day. I just wanted proof since I'm getting down to thousandths of an inch.

I'm facing this same situation, my heads are milled .030,, 5.7 ltr and Im gonna use the TR 230 cam and yella terras, I'm 99 percent positive I'm gonna need fly cuts, In your case though it would suck to have to pull the heads to measure P/V and to then have the pistons fly cut so this is something to consider also.

with comp 987 double springs, titanium retainers I should be OK to begin with in the float dept. These YT's being 30% lighter than stock and having less friction than stock should reduce my chances of valve float if anything (I hope)

you are right, but that is too close for comfort.. being a mere 5 thousanths away from a toasted motor.. fly cutting is not that hard to do.. for the piece of mind.
