If i had to guess, i would go out on a limb and check pushrod length. sounds like valves might be open and backfiring in the intake, just a guess

Cam timing off, possible bent valves, wrong pushrod length.

What was your piston to valve clearance? And how did you check it?
How did you check pushrod length?
These questions usually go unanswered/get ignored for a reason, hopefully for your sake you can answer them.

how can u have no spark when the car backfired? sounds like the timing is off due to backfire. did you do anything to the motor since the swap? its not likely the coil pack connectors got mixed up but you might want to check it anyway

For the ignition relay problem, switch your fan#2 relay to where the ignition relay goes. If it fires then, then it's your ignition relay. I had mine go south when I left my battery connected while I ported my throttle body. When I went to start it up, I was pissed. I'd also check the grounds on the back of the head, well for that matter, check them all.

there are 3 grounds on the back of the head correct 2 of them go bolted together and the other one separate....they are tight.

we swapped out the fan relay to the ignition...nothing

Bet its the crank position sensor. Check it out- its by the starter. You may have to take the starter out to get to it...

The spark plug has to be grounded. If you just put a spark plug in the end of a wire and hold it in the air it will not fire at all. The spark plug is ground when it is tightened into the head. You need to either put the plug on a ground point or use a spark plug test to see if you actually have spark. By the sound of your motor. I would say that your timing is off or your pushrods are the wrong length. Hope this help a bit.
