Is this cam streetable?
Before i go into the details, i would be using this upgrade kit with the cam http://www.compperformancegroupstore...de=GEN3SPRINGS
So... I would be going this one http://www.compperformancegroupstore...gory_Code=GEN3
but if that is too much track, i would go http://www.compperformancegroupstore...gory_Code=GEN3
THe car is just going to be a fun driver with some days at the track. I'm mainly looking for a good sound, some real nice power, and for it to be driveable on the street.
Thanks guys
Matt

You might want to call comp or futural and ask them thier opinions. Unless I'm missing something here you are looking at cams designed for 408 or bigger ci motors. On a 346 LS1 those would be anything BUT streetable.
Unless you have a 4xx stroker motor and forgot to mention it?

Both of those cams are not for the street at all. They are both solid roller camshafts. If you want a good street setup you want a hydraulic roller setup. That first cam is way to huge for a 346 CI street car and the second one it too big as well IMO.

Agreed. If you just want the sound, and only plan to do a little racing, then go with something smaller. No point in fly cutting or tuning issues or anything like that if you aren't going to take full advantage of it.

Lol ok well i obviously dont know much about this type of stuff. This is my first car that i got 3 months ago and have not really had much experience with anything engine wise (i'm 17). I've just recently has a VERY loud and noticeable tick coming from the drivers side of my engine, it gets louder with more load and faster with RPM so i was thinking a valvetrain problem, And if it is, i was thinking why not upgrade now instead of replacing with stock stuff... So could you guys help me out? the car is a DD for me (going to and from school, about 15 miles, and on the autobahn i will probably be going above 100mph) so if that helps with the choices. I'm also looking for something a bit in the cheaper range.
Thanks again guys for helping with my stupidity!

Start by reading this. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/772576-got-cam-heads-rocker-machining-questions-about-ls1-ls2-ls6-read-me-first.html
Then do a lot of skimming through the threads in this forum, they will give you a lot of insight.
The tick could be something simple and very cheap like a bent pushrod or a defective rocker arm, both are cheap and simple to replace. If the tick was just developed I would pull the valve covers and inspect both of those items first.
One thing is for certain, do not jump into a head cam setup yet with your lack of knowledge, learn up first.
