Default Metal Shavings

I take it my motor is on its last leg. Car overheated and dumped coolant into the motor last year. I knew the bearings took a hit but i wasn't expecting it to be that bad. How long before it poops out on me?

PS- That oil has ~1k miles on it

yep.
if it is a solid chunk its bad news but if you can smear it in your hand and it is like a silver greese fealing could be normal ware.

its not a solid chunk, it smeared after i took the pic. the biggest piece (the one sticking out in the picture) is about the size of small fingernail clipping or a long piece of lead from a mechanical pencil (for lack of a better measuring system).

let me better describe what happened to the car. After the car overheated, it was driven for about 50 miles then towed to Eastside. the cooling issue was resolved and the heads were milled down. the car was driven for about 1k miles and then stored for winter. today i went to change the oil and found that. Eastside made 5 dyno runs with the car and then changed the oil to check for metal shavings, and they found nothing. i can't imagine it being normal wear cause the shortblock is the same and i always check the plug when i change the oil. i think my bearings are toast.

If it smeared and is greese it could be like a build up since the car sat for so long I mean it couldent tell ya but I get a little stuff on my plug almost every time I change it haha.
IF ITS A CHUNK THEN THATS diffrent solid peices are peices of engine materal.
I think your over reacting.
If your oil pressure is good screw it. If it blows then get a bigger motor.

Get a calender and a stopwatch and drive it till it quits.

Then we will have a baseline.......

I think my car is an exception. I've put 8k miles on it in the past 2 years.
