Default how do you eyelash a stock internal engine??

I found this during my H/C swap.. 2000 LS1, I'm the second owner, stock everything.. I bought it with 17k miles on it and all it had was a bolra CB..... I also had 6 bent pushrods that came out of this swap..The BADLY bent rod was on the driver's side.. #5 I believe..

THis lash pic is from the pass side.. And what's with the brown?? I'm used to gray or black..

Dexcool is brownish-orange. The way you eyelash the piston on a stock internal is you float the valve as the piston comes up. The car was probably over revved.

Damage does look minimal though. Should be ok. Clean those pistons before reassembly.

I cleaned it up a bit VERY GENTLE edge of a file and 2000 grit sand paper.. THe file was just to knock the top of the lash off..

I'm still a little nervous about this..

That happen to me when my spring broke but in my case it also bent the valve and guide, trust me it'll be fine.

Ok.. I was just thinking that people fly cut reliefs in anyway, so it'll be fine.. ^ Thanx do0d..

I'm just curious as to the piston thickness...

Oh well.. SLIGHT volume change in that cyl... I just want to get his car running.. Cam will be here on Wednesday.. Just gotta degree it and slap the engine back together.. I'd like to have it running by Thursday.. But I have to work on it after work.. and my ASP UDP is still on back order from TR..

If you've got the engine disassembled cut some valve reliefs, you may need it in a near future. Just my 2 cents, good luck
