Default New to LSX Need some head choice advice!!!

I have a 6.0L from 06' Escalade I am putting in my car. I work at a big core supplier place in Dallas. I have access to nearly ANY LSX head combo I want, I just need to know which ones are best for basically stock combo's.

Will be running slightly modified LS6 cam on a 110lsa, bigger springs, and headers/full exhaust.

I need to know which heads are best (stock castings) and how much to port them and how much to mill them etc.

Which intake?

What headers?

My heart IS NOT set on the cam I have, I am a N20 junkie and will be spraying the **** out of it on a regular basis, as I have many replacements laying around if I grenade it.

Anyone have a bracket setup from a vette or LSX car? I only have truck brackets.

Looking for as much power as possible whie retaining factory parts (may get an aftermarket intake)?

ANY helpful info is VERY appreciated!

HELP!

If I remember, you could put a nice set of stock GM L92 heads with the L76 intake on this 6.0l engine. Cheap as hell and they flow crazy! It'll be your best bet. Check some dyno with the LS3(L92 heads) and nicely chosen cam, and youll see..

Which heads are the L92's? And what did the L76 intake come on? I have ANY factory head, and ANY factory intake to choose from, just new to the LSX and want my best bet. The heads will be hogged out to the max, but with stock valves. How much compression can you run and stay FI on an LSX and drive it every day???

The L92 head will work, but you'll probably need a lot of milling to get compression anywhere near where you want to be. Most of the time we see guys stay with something like the PRC Stage 2.5 Ls6 heads. With the smaller chambers the compression your looking to get to will be a lot easier!

If you want to run l92 heads with stock valves, I would leave the intake port alone.

That's great, but I have no idea what you're referring to as a L92 head?

Where did anyone say AFR L92 in same sentence? I have 317, 241, 706, 862 in stock to choose from, maybe the better question is which of THESE heads are best?? As I said though, they will be hogged way out so keep that in mind.

Thanks for all the responses!

Ported 862's aren't bad.

That is the 5.3L casting PRC uses and I have them on my car. Much smaller combustion chamber size lends itself to higher compression.

07 and later escalades, denali's and vortec max motors.

ls3 heads, l76 heads also. they are all the l92's.

364, 5364 and 823 castings.

Well....Looks like I've got everything BUT the L92's in stock then....I figured the 317's over the 862's b/c the bigger valves/intake runners etc.

317's have a 71cc chamber volume.
243's have a 65cc chamber volume.
They both share the same intake and exhaust port cores as cast.

Good luck,

Richard

This does not belong in the dyno section. Moving to Internal III forum so you'll get more replies.

the l92 are 4653 casting numbers or that might be ls7's heads but they are close in comparison.

Cool deal....Technically though, I could mill the 317's down to get the same cc/compression though right?
