Default grinding down intake rocker bolts...

how are you guys grinding down your intake rocker bolts so they dont protrude down into the intake port...are you guys angling them or just flat grinding each of the intake bolts so wichever thread you start the bolt with (two right) either way the bolt will not protrude (hope this makes sense)...every little bit counts when it comes to max power/effort stock ls6 346 combo

I ground mine down to match the radius of the runner for a smooth transition.

Are these the stock size (other than length) or would these fit in a Harland Sharp modified rocker?

I was either thinking of grinding mine or getting some washers, to shim the bolt up a bit.

I have 16 of the ARP rocker arm bolts NIB. I'm not sure they will work with the YT rockers. They are just like stock bolts only shorter.

Before swapping bolts, did you check your wipe pattern? You may find that shims are required to correct the wipe pattern and the rocker sits higher resulting in less bolt intrusion into the intake runner.

Make sure you use ARP SEALANT on the intake bolts,or else your gonna suck in oil.Or permatex number 2 non hardening sealer, comes in a tube.

Does the ARP sealant remain pliable? Curious as this may be a good option for me as well.

Thanks

Thanks

I used Loctite PST with teflon thread sealer. It doesn't harden and seals great.

I just used a permanent marker to draw on the exposed part of the threads and then cut with a dremel. It has to be torqued to spec each time, otherwise the angle will be off.

Any reason not to use regular locktite to keep the oil out?
