TSP 231/237 or G5X2
Will these cams work with an uncut stage II 5.3 head?(PTV clearance being the question) Or would a stage 2 5.7 head work better?
Thanks for any information

I think you should try being different.. I am running the FM-9 cam with TEA Stage I heads that only flow 290cfm at .600 lift.. I am running a old Ed tune from 3 cams ago.. I can only think of 2 other cars in my area that can beat me NA.. Imagine if I upgraded to TEA 5.3 Stage 1.5's or 2's that flow over 300cfm at .600 lift or Futral Motorsports heads that flow all the way to .700 lift The ramp rates are fast and the car idles great. No bucking below 1500rpm like OTHER big cams. Futral Motorsports use CAM MOTION to produce their CUSTOM cams.. You might think I like Alan Futral, but I dont. He use to chat with me more on IM, but he decided to be FATHER.. No love..

A G5X2 will work on:
Unmilled, stock valve heads(All Gen. III heads)
Unmilled, 2.02/1.57 valved heads(all Gen III versions)
Simple way to check is my measuring the "Valve Drop" Put any piston at TDC, and measure how much the valve drops before the piston touches it.
If you have .195+, you are OK for either X2, or X3

Re: TSP 231/237 or G5X2
IS anyone running the TSP231/237 in an A4. I have a Yank 3600 and 3:73 gears and was wondering how it would perform in my 2000 SS with stage II 5.3's. Also, how would the RPM range be?

I like the 231/237 cam. There is not a problem with unmilled heads. This cam lays down some killer numbers. The g5x2 cam is cutting it to close.I do not believe it will make any more power.Call Jason and get you one today! You will be happy you did.

The 231/237 camshaft we sell a ton of with the Patriot Stage 2 heads. Several cars have made over 440rwhp without decking the heads & without cutting valve reliefs!
One of the goals we wanted to accomplish with this camshaft is keep the ramps fast, but keep the lift under 600. With the 231/237s lift you can run anything from a big double spring to the single 918 springs or manley springs!
Did I mention the 231/237 is $350 right now

I drove my car for the first time tonight with the TSP231/237 and the new patriot Stage II LS6 style heads with 59cc chambers... My tires hate me now. The street manners of the cam REALLY surprised me. Great mail order tune by Jason at TSP!!
