Default T1 Cam

Ok I am ready to cam my car, but first I need a cam. Nothing crazy, just something better than stock that will show a decent improvement in power and sound. I plan on getting headers with the Cam. In the GP section, the T1 cams are $275, so I plan on buying this one. T1 cam owners what do you have to say about it? This will be the first time I have installed a cam. Thanks.

The T1 is a great street/strip cam. Pretty mild for the cams that are out today. Lots of people back in the day had great results with the T1 and B1 grinds.

I dyno'd 390rwhp/380rwtq with the T1 2 years ago. No tricks. Not even a cutout. Stock LS1 heads..

Great all round cam. Mine went the sig w/all the bolt on's under TEA 1.5 5.3's through a 12 bolt/373's & slicks. Sounds good and has good manners. You'll like it....

Its a great all-around cam. Nice lope, good drivability, good performance. Besides that, the cam is named after me

I was SOLD on the T1 Cam (221/221)from MTI. But that is older cam and i hear new ones are a bit better, so they say.... Now i am on to the c1 cam (hammer cam). ....i keep hearing about the thunder cam, gx2,
I definately want the 112 lsa as opposed to 114 -- i want:
To know i have a cam on idle (definately) but i also want to start it and just leave without having to warm it up, dont want to drill into the throttlebody or worry about the valvetrain(AT ALL - one bit !!), i want to run a/c and the car cannot stall (is that to much to ask for ?!) is the c1 too big (222/222) i'm getting the manley spring set mti sells:
is the c1 rough on the valvetrain?
is the idle nice....how much different from stock will it sound at idle?
can i just install and forget about it?
what was your first impression of your cam ?
.....willing to sacrifice some power for a good driver (hense the baby cam)....its my daily driver.
I'm ONLY doing cam/valvetrain and tuning (right now) THATS IT !
I did my ALL my homework and this is my first/last post regarding this before i pull the trigger....

Mirek,
I have the C1 in my Z28 and it is my daily driver. I now have about 10k miles on the cam with no problems. Driveabilty is great, and when you pull up to a light it is definitely noticeable. I have a sound clip if you are interested, just drop me an email or PM.
