Defiantely requires either the stage 1 ls6 or cutting the pistons for the 5.3l heads. Our new PRC casting should be ready very soon & it'll have some clearance for either of those camshafts though!!!

Less open area. Think about it, you machine the valve seat deeper into the head. The valve sits higher up (away from the piston) so theres more clearance when it opens.
I can't imagine that, say you need .020 more ptv clearance so they sink the valve in the head that amount. Thats backyard IMO.
What also amazes me is what people do to not flycut/build an engine properly.
