5.3 head on LS1
I have a set or 5.3l heads sitting in the garage and was wondering what i have to do to them before putting them on my car. 01 z28. I hear they raise compression a bit but don't flow as good. Also hear that they inc HP due to the compression bump. Would it hurt to put them on without putting bigger valves in them?

I have a set I had done up by Bo White back before he stopped porting. I have the biger valves from 241 heads & they are port/polished/milled .018". I absolutely love them on this little 346 combo of mine. It gets nasty for a baby cam & small cheap heads.
Oh & I run 87 octane(pure gas, no ethonol mixed) with no tune & have had it installed & running this way for a year now without a single issue. And I drive with the A/C on all summer.

I have 5.3's milled .020 and had the cambers CC'd and they came in at 60.4 This is with a 1.57 exhuast and a 2.08 intake Rev valve ported by Jay from Absolute Speed before he folded up shop. Just about 11.3:1 pump gas (93 octane) does fine. Beauty going into the low 10's now with a "GM head".
