Need a bigger Cam: Big Cam 402/408's Chime in
I'm looking to install a bigger cam on my 402 very soon. I'm using a smaller size MS3 right now. I'm curious if my heads can support the extra duration. I will be getting my FAST 92 professionally ported, adding 1 7/8's headers and installing a better merge ORY over my Catted Y-pipe. I will also be putting in some 4.10's soon. I'm trying to squeeze any bit of more NA power before I install my nitrous kit...
I'm looking to use around mid 240 to high 240 on the intake and high 240 to low 250 on the exhaust.
Big cam 402/408's chime in and let me know about your setup
My setup is as follows:
TSP 402 w/ around 7500 miles on it
PRC Stage 1 243's independently flowed 307 @ .600
MS3 cam 237/242 .603/.609
Fast 92/92 Unported (Intake will be professionally ported when the cam goes in)
85mm MAF w/ 85mm Lid
Pacesetter 1 3/4 headers (Will be swapped out for 1 7/8's size TSP headers)
Catted TSP y-pipe (Will be replaced with TSP's ORY with there new better merge design)
Magnaflow Catback
12 bolt w/ 3.73's (Will be installing 4.10's very soon)
Built t-56 using a Monster stage 3 clutch
42 lb injectors and a Walbro 255l pump
My car only gets driven around once or twice per week and I have a good tuner down here. I will also be spraying 100-150 shot with my 92 mm plate setup after I finish with this new setup. Thanks for your input!

Agreed. A bigger cam will show dimishing returns with the small heads you have. Better investment would be in some 235-245 heads from TFS, AFR, or PRC.

I pulled 45 more rwhp by getting rid of CNC 243 and fast 92 to a Ls3 CNC and fully ported LS3 intake. Note same cam! I'll be pulling the cathedral port cam specs for a LS3 rev split cam.

I've decided I'm gonna go with the PRC 237's as soon as I get my tax return and work bonus I plan on going bigger cubes in the future and these heads should accomidate those extra ci's just fine.
