Default LQ9 with LS3 intake

Looking to buy a TSP 408 CID LQ9 Short-Block. From a "budget performance" perspective - What would be a good H/I setup that would work well with a TSP 233/239 cam that I already have? (or should change that as well to make sure they all work well together?)

I know that cam works well in a stock 6.0 or 6.2 with LS3 heads but in a 408 I think it will be on that small side. It would make a good street cam in a 408 though.

That's what I'm looking to have. I really won't be taking it to the track - more of a destroy the pony and civic car. What other cam would you recommend?

LS3 heads and intake would work. I agree on the camshaft. You could go bigger if you want. But from a "budget" perspective the one you have will work.

If I were to sell my 233 and go bigger ... What would you recommend? MS3?

Custom grind is always a great option. Talk with Martin@tick or PatG

As far as the cam you have now, that's pretty close to what I'll be running in my stock ls2 with ls3 top end and it's supposed to be pretty good for this setup, not sure about a 408...

I LOVED it in my LS1. Felt like a whole new car.

Nothing wrong with a cam that size for power. I got a cust grind from PatG for my 408 and mine is slightly larger.

What kind of power can I see with this setup? I also have intake, headers, 373 rear, 3600 stall
