I was thinking of using ported LS3 intake and NW 92mm TB. But all the heads I find in searches seem to need a 4.06" bore or larger.......

Like the TFS 255's or L92 heads......

What's the best ones to buy.......?

Trick flow makes a new ls3 head I think. Might be worth looking into? I took the cheep way out and got the gmpp ported ls3's for my 4.030 418 build.

Small bore LS7's in my opinion.

For the money it's go be hard to beat a ls3 head in my opinion unless you spending the wonder bread

TEA/TFS 255 LS3 seem to be one of the best out there. It even outflows some of the so called small bore LS7's.

Ls3 heads with exhaust ports cleaned up. I can tell you from experience Trick Flows are best for 408 or more cubes. Dont get hung up on flow numbers. Bigger is not always better. Just consider fast n/a ls3 camaro, rhinos, runs 10.45 with cleaned up ls3 heads and outruns some with TFs or similar heads. A buddy made the expense for some TFs, and ran same ets, lost bottom end, but increased top end speed...same et though...all for 2500 bucks...

As for needing a 4.065 to effectively run ls3 heads...thats false...plenty stock bore lq9s and ls2s with ls3 or l92 heads including me...

In that 390 cube motor id love to see a comp 235 243, 620 624, 113+2 cam with ls3 heads cleaned up or ported exhausts, at least 1 7/8 but preferably 2 headers, at least 4k stall and 3.91 stall...
