Default Need help: Stock ls2 bottom End with 59cc patriot heads

Ok guy's, i just got a Ls2 took bottom end and I have a set of patriots Ls6 heads that are 59cc and I was wondering what the compression ratio would be with these patriot heads on. I'm not very good with the compression ratio calculator online and was hoping some one could help out. I'm still wanting to run the car on pump gas so I can't go to high with the compression. Also , I'd like to know how thick the gasket would need to be with these heads to be around 11.3:1 compression. Thanks a lot and have a good one guys

I get 11.76 with zero deck height and a 0.050" gasket. A 0.065" gasket comes in at 11.3...

Thanks a lot. Now my other question is Wil that be to thick of a gasket to run for any type of reason? I just don't want to run into issues with to thick of a gasket

I'm no expert, but from what I read 11.76:1 would probably be really good on 93 oct...why would you want to go lower?

Also, IF your pistons are truly zero deck (I thought they stick out of the bore a few thou?) the 0.065 head gasket would open your quench more than you want....I think the thinner gasket would be close to ideal.

Have you checked Piston to Valve? What does your cam manufacturer say about all of this?

Well I live In California and our highest octane is 91. I talked to my tuner and the person making my cam last night. Tuner said the same thing about the thinner gasket Like a.060. Now my cam manufacturer said that I shouldn't have any issues with the piston to valve clearance. No I just need to figure out what gasket to go with. My tuner said would be ok to be around 11.4-11.5:1 and he will make it work with the tune. But he doesn't want to go higher on pump gas.

The only way to get the CR down with that combo is thicker gaskets. This causes a loss in quench, which in turn, increases the tendency to detonate. It's a loss-loss situation. Might ought to keep the CR up and decrease timing...

I would get some knowledgeable opinions (vendors like CamMotion, Brian Tooley, Lonnie @ Texas Speed) local engine builders, etc). We might be splitting hairs here

If the compression/Quench is really and issue just smooth/soften the combustion chambers to gain back a few cc's.

Yeah, shouldn't be a problem on a 4" bore.

Ok thanks. Yea I was doing the math and if I get a. 4.130 bore gasket .060 crush thickness I should be around 11.53:1 compression. I'm hoping that should be good for pump gas set lol.
