Default Pennzoil Platinum ?

Since I cant find german castrol anymore I am going to switch over
Can anyone reccomend a good grade to use??
The car sees mostly summer 60f-95f driving but may occasionally see a start up as cold as 15f
It is not winter driven but is started to move around in storage

I am running a ported ls6 oil pump on the car and it currently has 93k on it
It dosent seem to burn any oil

Thanks in advance

Pennzoil Platinum 10w-30. LS1's love it, great oil for the price with great wear characteristics. I guarantee you won't go wrong with PP 10w-30.

Oil filters in order of preference:

1. Amsoil EaO32 (By far the best filter available today)
2. K&N
3. Delco UPF44

Consider the M1 0w-40 readily available at AutoZone or the M1 5w-40 Turbo Diesel sold at AZ, and at WallyWorld in the 4 qt jugs. Both will flow well cold, protect under load at temp. I used to run the M1 5w-40 (it was called Truck & SUV back then) in my SS before GC started turning up regularly in my local AZs. Very good oil, no problems at all, just went with the GC when it became easy to find here.

I think I read on one of the boards that WW just dropped the price on M1 oils.

Default pennzoil platinum

I love this stuff-actually I switched over from mobil1 after the oil analysis came back almost identical for both, since the pennzoil is a hair cheaper. Both are great though.

The German Castrol can be found at a BMW dealer ( not cheap); it is the factory oil for the M5.

Mobil 1 in 0w-40 has a higher film strength at 212F than just about anything on the planet; only a few of the 50W oils are higher. When I bought my 522" from Reher-Morrison they told me that RP would make the most power BUT was very temp sensitive and the Mobil was protecting at 130 or 330: that is all I had to hear. Rather run 9.7's safely than 9.6's with questions or problems . .

Also, the 0W-40 has more phosphorus to protect the valve train; it is greater than 1000 ppm.

Your car:your decision.
