Default I'm wanting more H/C power on a stock 346

My LS1 easily makes 400-420 rwhp with its cam, heads, intake (LS6), and bolt ons. The cam is mild, and the heads are ported (241 or 243 casting, can't remember). Since my lifters are going out, I'm thinking of rebuilding the engine while I'm at it. I have a rebuilt m6, Textralia clutch, & stock rear end. I want tons more power (475-500 rwhp) yet still drive it everyday. Am I daring not to upgrade pistons & rods? The engine has 108k on it. Any suggestions on the rebuild?

Thanks

YEAH, call VENGEANCE RACING as they are getting 500rwhp on their 346 builds using TrickFlow 225 Heads and their Vindicator Cam and other supporting bolt ons, etc.!

Call Extreme Performance, they are in OKC and do some incredible work. They've built a ton of cars, 800 RWHP FRC Vette (car ran 142+ with BFG DR's and stock suspension), 9 second full weight WS6, 6XX and 7XX RWHP 30th T/A's, LS1 RX-7's, you name it. Call them and they'll hook you up, Jason (owner/tuner) is an amazing tuner as well. 405.721.2430. Just so you know, if you're wanting to make that power outside of FI you will probably be spinning the motor higher, and that doesn't mix with weak 98 rodbolts, you'll have to upgrade to ARP's.

That's what I'd do
I live in Michigan and stopped in the Vengeance shop .
The shop is all about the customer and his HP goals
Damn it was fun talking with Mike and Ron .
Its only money , go for it
It 'l be fast and the fun will follow
Thats what its all about
You want to be King of the hill ,They can do that too.............

I don't want to spend TOO much money. but I don't want to low-ball it. Is it a bad idea to buy a used camshaft and heads? Pros/Cons??

thanks for everyones input. first, I'm going to figure out what I want to have installed. then I'll take my options as to where I should get them and where to have the parts installed.
I know I'll be looking to buy:
camshaft
ported/milled heads
rod bolts
& probably upgrading to a nice intake & t.b.
I might even consider getting a bigger crank & getting new pistons.

anyone know how much I can expect to be charged for the install of the cam & bolts work?

Buying used is good as long as you understand what you're buying .
I would look for a forum vendor and shop them like you would the parts.
Do you know any guys who have had the work done .
See if you can get recommendations .
I have plenty of references here in Michigan and Georgia (Some of the best).
You're in OK. I can't help you there .
My Son and I did the H/C swap ourselves ,not too bad on the 2000 vette .
If you buy used parts ,the tuner will not Guarantee anything.

Another thing to consider is the fact that your block may not be able to be just honed and ready to go. If it has to be bored you will have to buy pistons at the least and that is very possible with 108k on the clock. You very well may be fine just something to think about.
