Default Will my 6.0 internals work in an LS3 block?

Ive tried searching and there is so much BS that it got me nowhere. Im getting an SS with an iron 6.0 in it thats bored .080. I think it might have split a cylender wall because of the extreme over bore. Something is causing white smoke from the driver side exhaust. Im prepairing for the worst and researching my options. Can I buy a bare LS3 block, bore it to 4.080" so I can use my pistons and bolt all my current 6.0 parts into the block? Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Im not sure if the ls3 can take a .018 overbore. If it will, you can reuse them.

why get a LS3 block when you can spend 400 bucks more and get a LSX block and not worry about it and go as big as you want? or are you just wanting to go aluminum? and a .015 overbore shouldn't be that much problem with that block.

Last I seen LS3 blocks were $750. I could be wrong though. Im really wanting to cut some weight off the car and going from the iron block to aluminum block with save a ton. I wish I could get some concrete evidence on if the LS3 can be bored to 4.080. If anyone knows 100% positive that it can and not leave my cylinder walls paper thin like the .080 bore on the LQ9 block ended up please let me know. Thanks again.

on scoggin dickeys they are 1399 for the 6.2L aluminum Bare block. but seriously I doubt your going to have problems with .015 I mean most blocks come at like 3.995 you have to hone out the extra .005 so realisticly .010

There's a guy that bored one out to 4.10 that posted on here last year. I
think his name is Shirl Dickey. I believe that you can go at least 0.020 and
still be safe. I know that the sleeves are cast in the block so depending on
how true they're casted (not centered) is the final factor in boring.
You might check with one of the sponsors for additional info.

Just a question why would you want to re-use pistons. Not a good idea in my book. Crank yes, rods yes, pistons I wouldn't

To tell the truth I was thinking that he was re-using cast pistons. After I reread it all and found out he's running forged I take it back. Just another stupid moment.

I am emptying my 383 internals and putting my Darts on a 4.070 block, i am using Mahle pistons which come with rings and pins, they arnt a great deal of money. From what i can gather all i need is new lifter trays and gaskets to do the swap. I am using an aftermarket ECU and external crank trigger though, i'm also renewing the kifters for new LS7 ones while at it.
