Default 2014 LT1/Gen 5 engine development well underway at Livernois Motorsports

We here at Livernois Motorsports wanted to share something with the message boards that we've been holding on to for a number of months now…. While others have just now started to get vehicles in hand, we have been doing something much more in depth, we have been doing R&D on the new Gen5/LT series of engines. We can't quite tell you exactly what specific items we are working on making for it, but we can say that the future looks very bright for this engine family, and it's power potential. In addition to the engines we have at our disposal, we also have a 5.3L Silverado that we have already baseline dyno'd and have been starting to work out an improved calibration as we speak.

For you Corvette lovers in our fan base, we haven't forgotten about you. We do have a 2014 Arctic White Z51 on order with the 7-speed manual that we should be seeing sometime in the near future. But, for the impatient among us we already have a 6.2 engine to play with to keep us busy. We are definitely excited about tearing into the car and seeing how far we can take it based off of what we have already learned from the engine alone.

what do you guys think what a LT swap into a 4th gen will be like? Any issues with that fuel pump in the back that will be under the cowl? what about oil pan, exhaust port angle?

Well we haven't gotten far enough into it to consider swaps. But now that you mention it we will def keeps our eyes open to see if it is a possibility!

Well Dan just finished up tuning the truck and these are the results!

Green=baseline 87 octane
Red= 87 performance
Blue= 93 performance
Remember this is a bone stock engine, only things changed were the tune and fuel!

pretty sure it's a tune, they list 87 octane twice with two different hp numbers, and then 93, and they specify one of the only things they changed was the tune.

a question i would like to ask: can you measure the distance between the bolt holes? also, possibly the distance between the cam journals?

Looks like they went from 355hp to 380 and 383tq to 416 on the 5.3 with 87 vs e85. I would imagine if you would get similar gains on the 6.2 you'll be around 450hp on e85 with the truck engine and 480-490hp with the vette. Also it looks like the l-83 5.3 heads will be an awesome option for a gen 3/4 small bore engine with its 57~cc chamber and 248cc intake. Looks like some sweet stuff comming to the hotrod community!
