95 z28 vs 06 altima SE-R
first off new to the fourms wanna say hello, my buddy has a 06 altima se-r intake, exhaust and tune, dynoed at 245 ish to the front wheels. had 5 races total him beating me everytime. went from a 3 rd gear roll i pulled a bumper but at around 110 he started pulling. one thing holding me back is the stock shifter deff getting pro 5.0. my car is just bolt on with lt4 hotcam and true duals. here is a link to video kinda dark but you get the idea, video was shot from my car.

first off you took off too low in the powerband. You shifted slow so if he powershifted thats probably the difference. Has your car been tuned? That will make a big difference as well

i bought the car 2 weeks ago so im goin to get it dynoed and tuned soon, also im in need of a short shifter real bad so thats my next mod. to be fair tho his car is deff quick for what it is a 4 door family sedan, the next race is from a digg hopefully that will have a different outcome.

A stock Altima SE-R will trap near 100mph, so they're very strong cars stock. An intake/exhaust/tune car will be VERY strong. I almost bought one a few years ago and they're definitely nice cars. Good run OP.

I had a few LT1's and the slowest one ran a 14.2 in the 1/4 in auto + 2.73 gear form. I guess if it runs mid 14's then it would be a decent race. Either way we are talking about a car that is at least 10 years older and if it stock and was not maintained well throughout its life probably is not runnning at its peak performance either. If he lost from a roll especially I would tune it up and go from there. A cam'd LT1 (even the hotcam) with exhaust will put it @ 310 at the wheels witha good tune. I dont see where he should have lost to an Altima.
wait...... you drive a honda S2000? I understand wanting to get rid of a 2valve but why an S2000?

Looks like I'll tell the story AGAIN... First off, I wanted an LS2 GTO or an SS/TA to begin with. Just didn't happen. So after two years my Mustang was getting up there in mileage and I was about to have to start replacing some wear-items and just didn't want to dish out the $$$. I was going to sell it and get a Jeep, and then out of the blue my mom asks if I'd rather take her car (S2000) and give her my Mustang so she can sell it and get a new car. So I get the S2000 and she gets a Millenium Yellow/Black '01 Z51/6spd targa C5. Which I have been driving all weekend because we traded cars . And I was talking more about the Altima vs. LT1 from a roll, because they trap very similarly stock.

haha....what a story! You going to keep the S2000 over the vette in the end? That would be a heck of a trade. went from a yellow stang to a yellow C5 targa...nice! Anyways I have always thought of the S2000's to be kinda gay because I only know a few of them around here and their drivers are (not saying you are and if its your preference then...whatever) but if you get to keep the vette then cool. As far as the altima race all I am saying is a cam'd LT1 should beat it from a roll and a dig if it is running right. His is not running right to get beat.
To the OP... has your car ever been tuned since the cam swap?

With the steering wheel torque and spinning like hell my altima sucks off the line. It's not an ls1 but it's a good run for a stock lt1 they can run bottom 14's and trap 100. They are also fairly light in weight for a 4 door car. Still no match for my SS, but it keeps the wife happy with what she thinks is fast.
