Default Best 60' on 2.73 gears?

What's the best 60' that was attained on 2.73 gears? I'm just trying to compare my lowly 2.2 60's to something. The best I have EVER achived with BFG drag radials is a 1.998 60'.

See my sig.
I'm sure it's not the best, but I'm happy.

Oh yeah, this is on 245/50-16 Nitto Drag Radials.

I am stock motored, stock suspension, yanked the front sway bar off, on 27" Hoosiers Ive pulled a 1.76 on the motor, and a 1.59 on a 150 shot with the 2.73's. I just got my new rearend in (8.8) with a 3.73 gear. I am hoping to blow those 60's out of the water tonight if the rain holds off!

I cut a 1.92 in my old 98 A4 with street tires an good track prep. Usually, 2.0 on street tires and stock converter. I smoke the sh$% out of the tires before staging and stalled to 1600 RPM's. I found that 2.73 are harder to smoke. Some of the guys with higher gears had to leave at a lower RPM using a stock set up.

Finally, don't swap gears. I've have heard horror stories about guys getting zero gains from a gear swap. If you want to lower your 60 ft buy a Vig 2800 or 3200 TC and some ET streets. I see guys running 1.5 to 1.7 60 ft with this set up.

I'm running a Yank 2800/3.0 now but it did nothing to lower my 60's. I just didn't think i was spinning but I may have been and didn't realize I was.

i asked elsewhere. But 3000/3200/3500 ? i'm doing alot of city driving, want the benefits of a stall. is choosing 3500 stall with a 2.73 rear gonna be a pita driving in the streets?

I was looking at the TCI model since its price seems good. I don't plan to track alot (lack of time), but ya never know what you mind find on the streets.

I don't want a car that has to chirp em every time i have to move 20 feet..

With my 2800, you really can't even tell it's there IMHO. And it MAY be for sale soon if I can gather the cash to get my race converter!

My best 60ft is in my sig. which was without n2o. I have had real good luck with the kumho's and the 3200 vig has real good street manners.

A converter is only good if you can hook. You need to run ET Streets with a converter.

Samz28: I have the TCI 3500 with 2.73 and it is very streetable. You have to give it quite a bit more gas to move from a stop but it accelerates very smoothly. it doesnt get violent until you really put your foot into it.

I cut 1.74's on motor and a 1.54 on 150 shot. Vig 3600, STOCK suspension, macs w/ ory, and a lid on 26x10.5/16 et streets. Best 1/8th mile 6.98.

Edit: I kind of forgot about the 224/224 112 cam...I'm so used to it that it seems like its not there LOL

Maybe we have better track prep in our area, but I know many, many people (including me) who have run 1.6x 60' on nittos. With 2.73s and nittos, traction should not be an issue unless you have H&C or spray or a track that uses oil instead of VHT

Try 18 to 20lbs and heat them until you see smoke in your rear view mirror. You'll get your good 60'.

Well, I have nittos and ET streets. Maybe i'll take both and give the nittos another shot.
