Default Trip meter not working.

After installing a new head unit with a friend and messing with some wires the trip meter would not turn on.
Can this a blown fuse?

did there seem to be any effect on the radio? Does the trip work, but reset itself?
If the radio cuts itself out sometimes, as in no power whatsoever, and the trip works, but resets, they are related. I've had this happen before in my old 97. I can explain more if you need me to..

VSS wire. As the factory radio had RDS or whatever they call it.

VSS wire tell the radio to get louder with speed is the same wire trip. It has been many years so I can't remember the color or there it runs from. Unplug the radio and see what happens.

No,you can hear the wine in the sound, sometimes you will hear like a crack in the radio, the trip meter does not work at all,you can only see the red background

Ok, the problem definately isn't what i was thinking. The problem had to do with the RAP and a plug on my BCM..
