4:10's make for a pretty damn tight gear for DD, I just had a S60 installed with a set of 4:10's but I don't DD this car so it's alright, I don't think it'd be too enjoyable for everyday but then I'm not in the position to say. I will say that it makes the car a helluva lot of fun though! Using 6th around town is a new experience too lol!

4.10's are fine for a DD. I've got them and never once regretted it. Unless you plan to go FI down the road, do it! Just be careful if your planning on putting them into your 10-bolt

I use to run 3.73 in my factory 10 bolt and I changed them out for 4.10 (before I ordered my Moser 12 bolt) and the car gained a tenth and a half from 11.91 to 11.77 on Mickey Thompson Drag Radials (a week apart in time, same track and the only change made.) On the street the 4.10 are funner to drive, gives you more low end power (grunt), gets you into the RPM range the LS motors like (perform) but on the street if your going to hook at all with any modification done you will need a set of drag radials. With a 6 speed I didnt see any real gas milage change but I don't drive my car everyday anymore.

if you have a M6 im assuming you have 3.42s now. it would seem pointless to me to go from 3.42s to 3.73s if you are only on the street. just my .02 but i am bias with my 4.10s

This is a very easy question to answer IMHO. My car has had 4.10's in the rear for about seven years. Car has been used as a daily driver when the other car was down. Have driven about 80,000 miles with 4.10's.

o Fun to drive and enjoyment you can't beat the 4.10's. They tend to make more noise etc.

o I like being able to drive around in 6th gear at 45-50 mph in the city.

o Street racing the 4.10's aren't so hot. It's very easy to spin and you may have to shift to 5th when with 3.73's you wouldn't.

o If you want to have fun and make the car easier to drive than stock go with the 4.10's. If you want to street race the 3.73's are the better choice. I'm happy with the 4.10's and still pick them over the 3.73's for a daily driver.

Thanks for the advice! I have 4:10's in my 2007 chevy truck with 20" wheels. The gear change was huge, now my truck spins the tires easy! But it is automatic. Still struggling with this but I think I will select the 4:10's for the fun factor.

Do it and don't look back. They should come stock with a ratio closer to the 4.10 then the 3.42...

Absolutely the best mod I've done. Broke the 10 bolt and went with the Strange 12 bolt loaded with 4.11's. The only problem is hooking on the street. DR's going on the in the spring. The fun factor just can't be beat wth the M6.

Mine are just as quiet as the stock were. Granted it's in a 12bolt, but if set-up properly, noise should not be a problem to worry about.
