Default Anyone using the Speed Inc Alternator Relocation Kit? Need feedback =)

I have the kit and havent had ANY belt issues which is a plus!

But I have noticed my voltage is lower then before. When driving it right at the middle of 13, if not a little lower. When I get to the stop light its in the yellow alot, and the radio reads like 10.5 volts.

Is anyone having this similiar issue?

I was wondering if maybe the regulator is not working properly, or maybe this alternator does not produce the same amount of amps at idle as the stock unit.

Aside from that, I still recommend it, as I can now drive the car without having to lug tools around to change the belt! LOL.

as mentioned in the email we have not seen any issue to date, but possibly adding a smaller alt. pulley can bring up the voltage

The other option is possibly a bad alt. , but not likely to be the issue

do you have a stock or under drive crank pulley?

I want to clarify that this post isnt to make the kit look bad in anyway.

This kit has allowed me to enjoy my car again and be able to drive it and feel that it is reliable! =)

Just wondering if anyone else was having the same issue.

All my pulleys are stock. I used the stock pulley on the new alternator as the one that comes with the alternator sticks out too far, and the designer said I shouldnt use it unless I get it milled down.

Frost, where did you get the smaller pulley from? I may try that next.

Also, i do not beleive that HP has anything to do with this. Maybe the idle RPM may have something to do with it? My car's idle is pretty low. Think 650ish? I need to verify what the idle is at.

try Dispatch Auto (630) 543-9331

I had them rebuild my LT1 alternator and they where able to set me up with a smaller pulley. I have an under drive crank pulley and seen low voltage at idle and the over drive pulley did help

if you still have an issue maybe you do have an alternator issue

as mentioned we have these on many street and race cars with big fuel pumps, double pumps, BS3's etc and have had no issues

please keep me posted

I will likely give you a call about one within the next month; I hate the arrangement that I have now.
