blew a hole in the infamous #7 piston. this was in a 2k silverado with a 4.8. motor was supercharged with about 10# or so, 160 stat, ls-1 edit (factory timing). that's about it. going to 6.0 block and lunati 408 stroker kit.

blew it at 13000. Snapped the timing chain in 3rd at 6600 rpm. Kissed all 8 pistons, bent every single valve. Collapsed a few lifters and shaved a lobe of the cam. Oh and cracked two head bolt holes on the block. I had ARE Stage1 heads milled .030 the thunder 224 cam. And every single bolt on there is. It sucked too cause I just put my moser in with 4.10's. This was in july of 2002, car still aint done as I have put another 10 grand in it. New heads, bigger cam, wilwood breaks, corbeau seats, race carpet, k-member, upper/lower a arms, etc etc. Also now I have a forged LS6 with a 3.905 bore. Nothing like a 60000 dollar POS Camaro

Shattered a rod in number 6 and part of it knocked a hole in the block. Timing chain gone as I think it was a rod bolt broke but who knows, spinning it to its max 7000 rpms....

Snapped a rod in #6 and timing chain also went, spinning the engine to max 7000 rpms could have been the reason it went so fast @ 21k miles

Oil pump let go at 35,600 miles. Destroyed bearings and crank. Rebuilt info in my sig.

And for the record, that would be GM's fault, not mine.

1) Spun a rod bearing with my H/C car after spraying 150 shot out of the toll plaza.

2) Snapped a timing chain and bent all the intake valves in a built 346ci motor.

Haven't blowen up an LS style motor yet! But I have had a 350 gernade at about 7000-7200 rpm. It is not a pretty site. Slightly pricy.

Busted a ringland off # 7 piston. 45K miles.

Aftermarket fuel pump went bad, went lean at the track spraying a dry 100 shot. Pretty gnarly looking... piston and combustion chamber looked like they were attacked by a dozen steel-beaked woodpeckers.

Rod bolt broke at about 1000' and 6700 rpm in 3rd. The rod took out the rest of the motor, sending several bits through the side of the block. Not pretty. Its taken me awhile to get the car in a high enough priority to get a new motor, but MTI is building me a very stout 346 now. Fortunately my stupid ARE heads survived, so they will probably continue to hassle me ;-)

Blew the ringlands off of #7 (seems to be the cylinder or concern after reading this )spraying a 200 wet shot and the fuel solenoid swelled shut and dyno operator didnt know to stop when A/F went 18:1++ Bent 9 pushrods, lost 1 piston, bent 2 intake valves.
