418ci turbo?
Thinking about doing a 418 iron block half filled, prob with a gt42r since I'm
Getting it so cheap. Prob around 9.5.1 compression, l92 heads. I have a
248/258 .649/649 109 lsa cam but don't think it will work. Not really looking for a street car. Anyones opinon is welcome on how well will this setup work.

A GT42 is only a 74mm turbo. Its going to have a hard time keeping up with a 418ci LS based motor. You need to be running an 88mm at least. Run it on low boost, and it will spool good and make big power on pump gas.

Rwhp I would like to be in the 950-1000 range, that mite be later. The exh housing is a 1.01 I beleave. Getting it for 500 brand new, and I know the cam isn't ideal. Have it laying around, and though I would see how bad it would be. Still something I'm putting together on paper sort of speak.

Wow like mentioned above....88 minimum man for a big motor like that. I would suggest a GT5018. We have used these on street car builds for some customers with big motors with great results.

I already know that i would need a t88 or bigger, Just wanted to see what opinons would be about that turbo. Since im getting the turbo for giving out a loan, figured why not put it to some use.
Now how about a cam, hyd or solid and specs.

I think at least 112 for a turbo LS motor. The GT42 is gonna be way small for this motor to make that much HP. The GT47-88 we were running was probably borderline that kinda power at the crank and that was on a smaller motor. (364") I dont think it would have kept up to a 418.

Just something i figure i would throw out there and watch someone say, "Are you crazy".
But def going single unless i want to go twins, but the price would have to be at the right price.
Unless one of you venders out there have good prices for some twins at a very good price, I'll give it some thought!
