Default best place to get a new key fob

my 10 year old key fob doesn't like me much anymore, especially when it gets cold. i have tried cleaning, changing batteries, etc. you name it and i have done it, but it simple just doesn't work when the temperature goes below 50. where is the best place to get another one? dealership/ebay/junk yard?

Ebay seems to be pretty popular for these key fobs. Definitely check it out.

I got one off eBay since mine didn't come with one and it would sound the alarm every time I opened the door. It even included instructions on programming it.

i seriously doubt it. the car doesnt ask you to press unlock button, then lock button, then hatch, etc. so an aftermarket one will not work properly. it doesnt work like a universal remote.

brought my key fob to my auto teacher and he tested the battery. it was fine. opened it up and clean out the inside and pulled the prongs for the terminals out a little bit and it works now!

When your programming them there's a sequence you have to follow with the ignition and the fob, so a GM one from the same era should work, shouldn't matter if it came off a camaro or not. Newer fobs and one's from different manufacturer's use different frequencies. Hope this help's.
