Default New Track Times

Took the Bird out for a couple of passes last night. I had run a best of an 11.63 on motor and had just taken off the front and rear bumper supports. I wanted to see if that weight would net me an 11.5.

First pass was an 11.55 @115
Second pass was an 11.47 @116

Not too shabby for a 3600 lbs pig and a moderate cam. Specs are in my sig.

Awesome. How are you coming off the line..idle and slam the pedal to the floor or having to roll out with a press ???

I'm holding at about 2500 rpm. I've tried higher and lower but 2500 seems to be my sweet spot. 1.55 sixties.

I just ask because I am blowing the tires off if I let it load up at all. I am almost doing a roll out and mash to the floor (not too fast). Running a 1.67 sixty. Our times were almost identical...mine was 11.49 @117 mph. What rear tires are you running and what psi ?

Thx,
Pitt

28" M/T Drag Radials at 16 psi. I'm running Spohn Torque Arm and Spohn LCA's...and 4.11's on a Moser 12-Bolt.

I've tried 26" full slicks and they still won't hook for me for some reason. I have to run the 28" because I'm already coming out a little high on the RPM at the finish line.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone got my 11.4 pass but here is a video from a few weeks ago. The first race was on motor against my buddy's SS. The 2nd race was on the 100 shot. I didn't hook and you can hear me feather the throttle at about the 60 foot mark.

get a rear drag bar on that car if you dont have one and you 60fts will improve dramatically...see sig

times were on 275/50/15 m/t drag radials, body mount tq arm, lca's, spohn rear drag bar, sfc's, and front qa1r shocks...the 26" have plently of bite as long as the track prep is there...
