Need help for a friend
OK my friend has a 96 WS6 trans am and all of a sudden the car would not start? we have been working on it for a couple of days now trying to figure it out and we need help! when you turn the key over it just clicks! we tried a new starter and nothing we tried a new ignition switch nothing tried bypassing the VATS and nothing? yesterday we went and got a new starter and when we got it on and hooked up the negative side of the battery the car started turning over! i thought that was really wierd casue the keys were in his pocket? but we got the battery hooked up and still have nothing! and we did check to make sure we are getting 12v at the starter! If I'm not mistaken, there is a starter relay in one of the main fuse boxes under the hood. The security light is supposed to come on for a second and go away when you turn the key. If it flashes once per second when you turn the key, VATS is preventing the car from starting.
