Default did i just kill my pcm?

so im out at the track right now, i was using tunercat to add a degree of timing in the extended table and adjust a shift point and was almost done programing the pcm, because im an idiot i opened datamaster to review some files. tuner cat said pcm programmed sucessfuly and reset the pcm, the fans came on like they normally do, but they never shut off, now when i turn the key to accesory the fans keep running. if i try to start the car is turns over smooth and fast but will not fire, it sounds like it is not getting spark. did i just fry my PCM? any way to check besides putting a new one in to see if that fixes it?

My pcm did this one time when I tried to upload a file to my autoprom with the key on.(not suppose to upload files to the autoprom with key on with 93's) Fans kept coming on with key on and would not start even after multiple tries with key off. Mine is a 93 (removable chip) so it's a little different, but did exactly what yours is doing. I removed power from the pcm and let it sit for a while. Hooked everything back up the next day, uplaoded the file and car worked fine. Try that and see what happens, it's worth a shot.

Disconnect the battery or just pull the PCM fuses, let it sit for a little bit and go back and try starting the car. I have been in this situation before. If that doesn't work then yes it is probably fried.

okay, pcm for less is out of stock, anyone have any other ideas on where to get a new PCM, there are several scrap yards around me, but if i go that route it would have to be from a 94-95 z28 right?

There is something wrong with that. $109 for a PCM? No way. They're probably looking at the ICM or something along those lines.

Just have your PCM fixed. Most tuners can fix it no problem. And if I had to buy new, I'd buy a NEW GM PCM.

Like I said, do yourself a favor and have yours fixed.

don't remember where I saw it but some programmer can solder a socket for the chip for the pcm so you can have backup chips.
here it is

again anything i need to know about installing it, or just unhook it and swap em over then re-flash it

It is definatly a PCM, the thing is it is a Nehoff PCM not a GM part, is this okay, any idea what the difference would be, is there somehting wrong with this PCM or some reason i should stay away from it, right now i am thinking it seems like the way to go to get me back on the road unless there is a reason that the GM one would be better than a nehoff

Nothing wrong with that at all. I have gotten them through Auto Zone in the past. They are reman GM units with a warranty for roughly $120. They do take your old one as a core.

Dude....$109. Go buy 2 of them, seriously. I had no idea they went down in price so much, though I do believe it.

As long as the PCM you get is service number 16188051 it doesn't matter what it came out of. You can usually find them on here for between $50-$65 shipped

The only problem with those PCM's is that they do not have any kind of file in them,or at least they didnt use to, All you had to do is take it to the dealer and have them flash a stock tune into it but here it cost $100.00 I tried to upload a file with tuner cats and LT1 Edit and it would not take it until I got it flashed at the dealer....

Where did you get yours from? I didn't have that problem with the one I got from Auto Zone.
