You need to handle the rear o2's: tune them out, get oxygen simulators, or have rear bungs welded after the cats.

You will also have to get headers with AIR/EGR hook ups, or have them tuned out if you delete them.

I passed in Cuyahoga County with QTP longtubes, a custom catted-y pipe and a good tune. A check engine light or stored code will fail you. Apparently the program they use to check the OBDII doesn't notice deleted stuff, since my rear O2 sensors were deleted. They checked under the car briefly with a mirror and apparently the 100% not stock exhaust didn't raise any red flags. They even commented on how good the car sounded!

over the past few yrs i have found the easiest way is to register your car to a non-emissions county...i live in summit, but go to school in stark county(which doesnt req emission testing)....you can use a friends address, or you can do what my buddy did(not recommended..): he just went thru the phonebook, and used a random address in stark county. lol. its worked for about 2 yrs though

I passed with no EGR or AIR, Catted Y and a tune. I have the O2 sensors in mine with no problems, so I only had the EGR and AIR tuned out. There wasn't a problem.

As mentioned, they'll use a mirror to check for cats, hook up to the ODBII to check for codes, and run you on the dyno.

What exactly are you planning on doing to the car? I know the LTs and Catted Y, what else?

Stock cam and heads? I can't believe you'll have a problem with it throwing codes. Especially after the computer has had some time to reprogram itself. Do you have a ODBII reader that can delete freeze frames?

The state stopped all that testing is Southern Ohio a few years ago. You can reqest a collectors plate, I had to send the state pictures of my 93 T/A and receipts totaling $5,000 so I did not have to get my car tested any more.

I did the collectors plate in Ohio. Have to prove you drive another car as your primary. Plates stay the same and a new sticker costs me $60 a year. If you look at my signature there's no way I'd pass emissions.

yes stock cam and heads, all stock internals, just what i mentioned....i heard if you get a code tuned out it may show up as "not ready" when they plug in the obdII system...is that true? or since i have cats and my o2 sensors will i be ok...some one told me by placing the o2 in a different position it will throw off the computer...

untrue, if you get the codes deleted professionally they will not show up at all.

Yeah, until he gets the random insurance verification mailed to the wrong address and ends up suspended and won't know it.

If you disconnect the battery or flash the pcm you will get your emmision codes set to "not ready". Takes a certain amount of drive cycles afterwards to show ready. You can have O2's set to not report codes and still pass!
