i have a question.. well i am lookin to get a ss hood for my Z but i really dont want to spend a grand and get the oem one from SLP. so if anyone here has got aftermarket ss hoods. where did you get it from? how much was it? and was fitment good? thanks for any help.

Believe what you may but I bought a certifit hood last year and it fit great. I gave it to the guy that bought my old car and he put it on and it fit snug! I paid like $200 for it but they have since raised their prices by alot! Like $380 now.

I don't like Certifit hoods. When my WS6 got hit, and I bought a new hood from them, it looked like it had been crumpled up and straightened out. It's hard to explain, it's not nice and smooth, when you look at it, the reflections look "wavy".

Screw the ss hood... Be more original slap a cowl hood on that z. or go buy an ss!

in my opinion i think cowl hoods look goon on third gens and fox body mustangs. 4th gen camaros a sleek an ss hood keeps it that way i think a cowl hood would like out of place and i want to put a black manta on my red z it think it looks sweet

Ill sell you mine...just took it off my 2000. Its a ss hood came on it from factory. Car only has 15000 miles, and its in the shop right now. Just got a vfn 3.5 ss hood, so mines for sale. send me a pm if interested

SS hoods are nice... I just couldn't see myself replicating that..... I had a suggestion for a cowl hood... Wasn't to thrilled about it at first.... But It grew on me... My car was originally the montery maroon. I think the cowl was more out of place without having the stripes down it. I get nothing but compliments. and when me and my buddy would go out. he had a ss. People tend to come to my car first asking questions. Because it's not something you see everyday.... Which is what i was going for... SS hood is just to played out imo.

if i had a third gen i would def get a cowl hood but they are a lot boxier than the 4th gens and i think i would mess up the sleek look. dont get me wrong i love how cowl's look just not on a 4th gen.
