Yes, the Edelbrock long tubes. With the slip on collector. The ones with the collector already welded on have a shitty collector just like pacesetter, tsp, etc. The collector makes the difference.
I went to CMS and had them fabricate a custom y pipe to fit my car using a Flowmaster y- merge. This is FAR better performance wise than any affordable y pipe setup you can buy, plus it's tailor fitted to my car and I had the choice of what size outlet piping I wanted to use. I opted for 3.5" personally. This cost me roughly the same as an "off the shelf" y pipe would have.
This setup will make great power. It was part of my 133mph 346 and my new setup.

Just recently I damaged my old set of Edelbrocks and replaced them with another set. This is a testament to my belief in them. On the new set, I had them high temp powdercoated after the collectors were welded on and they look great.

ok, are you running cats on your y-pipe? if so, what kind? i get a really good deal over at edelbrock but im not sure if i want the longtubes over the shorties because it seems like a lot of work. i can weld and fabricate though, so it doesnt really sound like a problem. the guys i know that work there were kinda skeptical of me putting it on my DD...

I'm not currently running cats, but I have considered it before. I have room under there

I have seen Wills car and noticed his headers, they look great and made great power, and those are the older ones, the new ones he had coated must look pretty sweet.
Like he said, if you are not doing longtubes dont go with shorties. Ive had the edelbrock shorties and it was a waste. Although im pretty happy with my 1 3/4" ARHs if I were to step up to 1 7/8" id probably go with the edelbrock LTs.

If you want to pass the sniffer id have Ryne tune it, a 224 cam shouldnt have a problem as long as you are runnning cats. I havent had to weld them personally but Ryne would be the guy to ask, they also make great fitting Y pipes and exhausts, my 4" magnaflow setup they made for me is awesome!

Yes, 65703. Yes, just bang them on with a piece of wood as far as you can and then you can tack them, weld all the way around, or use the brackets that they supply. No, no reason to change the length. Youre welcome

Ok great, I'm definitely going with the edel headers. Now I just have to figure out what I want behind them! I'm definitely going dual but I'm thinking if I should go with some high flow cats or not? I basically would only put them on if I thought I could pass the sniffer part of the test. Otherwise I'd do some bullets. U guys think I should worry about the smell w/ no cats?
