Default OBD I on 96 Z28

I want to replace the OBD II computer with an OBD I in my 96 Z28. Will the original OBD II Harness work with the OBD I computer, or do I need to change the harness as well?

I have a obdI conversion on mine and it's just a plug-in deal... No need to change the harness.

May I ask why you change from OBDII to OBDI? Just curious...

Cheaper to tune and less emission nags.

tonskiguy: you will need to use an OBD-I knock sensor or have a resistor mod done in the PCM to make it compatible.

That's the reason, thanks Shoebox, I was planning on a new knock sensor in the block. Is there any use for the LT4 knock module in the computer on OBD-I?

Yep. It'll still work fine.

I did the resistor mod on my pcm. Running OBD1 in my 96.
If you want to look at Tunercat and Datamaster before buying, let me know. I highly recommend both.
