Tweeter Install Question
I am installing new components in the doors of my TA. When I pulled out the stock tweeter I noticed there is a circuit board attached to the wiring. What is this and do I need it?

thats what I was thinking but I thought I remember reading on here that the amp has a built in crossover. IDK
Does anyone know for sure?
If it is the crossover should I just replace it with the crossover that came with the Components?

Bump!
Is there any way to adjust that filter? My Monsoon system sounds like it is missing some of the "high-midrange" frequencies. It sounds very "top-and-bottom" with nothing in the middle. None of the speakers are blown I think. Could this be it?

No, the impedance of the speakers makes very little difference other than a possible reduction in volume. Even that is unlikely as long as you use quality components because aftermarket speakers are generally more efficient - enough to make up for the 3dB drop in power cause by using 4-ohm speakers.
The tweeters in a Firebird are not powered by the amp so that certainly isn't the problem. Try playing around with the equalization to see if that solves the problem. I have also heard of some Firebirds having the high-pass filters go bad.

im installing components in the doors too and i've got a similar question. when im installing the crossovers, which wires should be hooked up to the audio in slots? if the tweeters arent connected to the amp, should i connect the stock tweeter wiring to the crossover and the stock woofer wiring?

If you are just replacing the speakers in a stock Monsoon system that still uses the factory amp then you don't need the crossover at all - the amp filters the low signal to the door mids and the already tweeters have a high-pass filter in the wiring.
If you really want to use the crossover, use it as just a high-pass filter. Connect the factory tweeter wires to the crossover input and the crossover's tweeter output to your new tweeters. Don't connect the crossover to the woofers in any way.
