cam mti x1
Hardend Pushrods
ls2 timing chain
comp 918 valve springs
gasket kit
tune

can you guys think of anything else ill need? I was thinking about doing some ls7 lifters too, car has about 40k on an 02 ls1

definately headbolts unless u have studs and do the lifters. i have the ls7 lifters, they are nice cheap insurance and you don't need the chain but that is good insurance too. yet to hear of a borken chain sure one is out there though

im on a limited budget, so would the lifters be better to get than the timing chain? how about oil pump?

I am going with the TR ported LS6 oil pump but mines a 98, you would prolly be alright.

lifters are much better and your oil pump is probally good but i think their cheap and its easy to do with heads with the heads off. once again cheap insurance but personally i would say your good. i've never heard of an oil pump going bad at 40k unless we're talkin dodges

i think ill order my pushrods and springs tomorow, anyone know how much a gasket kit costs?

most expensive thing will be the tune......grrrr

all i have now is the cam, and the heads will be here wed, i was thinking about having some porting done to them, only to pick up around 30cfm or so...

THunder has em for about 85 and its everything you need. Do the heads have to come off to change the lifters?

im doing a head and cam swap, so the heads will be coming off. not sure, ive never been inside an ls1

Heads have tgo come off to change lifters!
If you change lifters get some new LS2 lifter trays for $30.

Thanks i was wanting to know about that i wasnt planning on taking the heads off so i will have to see, dont have the cash for new heads wonder if stockers are worth gettin ported if so maybe then i will pull em.

i honestly dont see why they wouldnt, alot of ppl on here have made good power on 241 heads, if your on a budget like me and cant afford an aftermarket setup, get your stockers shaved and ported....i found my ls2 heads for 425 shipped, so i couldnt pass them up.
