Talking Finally found missing horsepower !!

Well, I finally found the missing power i thought i should have had all along on spray.
Turns out when i converted the 5177 NOS dry kit to a wet kit , i should have used a NX nozzle instead of a NOS fogger nozzle.
Best run i ever got sprayin 150 through the NOS nozzle was 11.60@118. Completely by accident i stumbled across the fact that the NOS nozzle inside diameter is smaller than even my 100 (rwhp) jets. I bought an NX nozzle and put in the same jet size i ran in the NOS nozzle,(62n/32f) (150 rwhp)and all i can say is (Holy Crap). Tomorrow is the last track day of the season (Stanton). I will see just how much power i was missing .
Very excited to get a chance at my first 10 second pass.

Sorry so long !!

Dave

Thanks . I have used the 150 jets for this whole year , however the nozzle would not flow even close to 150 rwhp.
A guy in my car club has a 99 SS and with 175 rwhp jets and similair mods went 10.8's and i could not figure out why i ran 7.3 @ 92 (1.56),when he ran 6.8 @ 102. (1.47) (1/8th mile).

I know all cars are different but this was not even close. Tomorrow i will try and even the time slips out.
I will post my (hopefully) new best time tomorrow.

Well Dave i hope your right with your predictions. I know youve been banging your head for quite some time on why your car couldnt run the numbers mine did or even close with similar mods. Just dont go lean like me and wind up with an intake valve that is .100 longer than the rest.
Good news is i finally got the car done after 11 months. Hit so many damn speedbumps along the way, but i can say that i can now change an oil pump in about 2 hours or less.
Took it to thunderbird on the 18th and managed a 12.10@112 on the motor with 20 degrees of timing(KR the entire run) and both Ltrims in the +25 range. Now comes the fun part of why its pulling timing and getting the computer tuned. I wanted to spray it but didnt want to be down anouther 11 months or longer. So far i belive our prediction of 130+ traps on the bottle wont be too hard with the bugs worked out if not i have jets all the way to 400hp.

Matt
glad to hear you finally got your car running again. Nice times (with KR). I found out that my convertor does not like the 150 shot AT ALL. It stalls about 5200 and hangs there.
I did get a new best though- 11.46@118 with a 1.56 60ft.
I guess i will need to replace my convertor for something close to your setup now.
Good luck on the Directport set up.

I still highly recommend the PY3600E. I know the price sucks but it truly is an awesome nitrous convertor. Once in a while ill see one in the for sale section at a decent price. With a better convertor youll be knocking on the 10 sec door.
