Convince me.. I want to be convinced...
Hope you guys are patient enough to read this...
Long story short my last car was 96 TA with a 5.3 with a T70
that ran real good considering I cut a lot of corners and beat
relentlessly on it.
I sold it and got the itch again 6 months later. Its worse than crack i
tell ya!!!
Now im trying to think of what to do with the next car I find. I have
(should have) a lq4 sittin around waiting for me and I need to decide
what to do with it. Another turbo setup is always lingering in the corner
of my head, but procharger i decided would be the way if I went boost
this time.
Thing is it is so very taxing going f/i on the wallet and I really am feeling
somewhat impatient right now. My current idea is forged rods and pistons
(looking for high compression... 11.5/1??) on the 370 with a healthy cam such as the MS4 on the stock 317 heads untill I scrounge up enough cash
for some ported LS6 or the like.
Now I never researched into what all will work with what (heads/cam
and all that fly cutting pistons and yada yada) so im not sure how good a
plan this forged 370 is in the first place.
Convince me to go with the forged 370 with nitrous instead of the procharged
stock lq4....
All in all it cost lots of money if not the same to go both ways... little cheaper on the nitrous side. benefit though is i will have a forged motor...

Just do it, the only thing i would change is the high compression 370, i would lower the compression a bit (10.5) maybe, then if the nitrous isn't your thing, sell it and just boost the 370 with a set of 317 heads to help bring the compression down a little more.
The nice thing about nitrous is instant torque at activation.
But thats just my 2 cents.....

My old set up was 370 ms3 cam patriot stage 3 heads 64cc chamber running 93 octane 11-1 best time was a 10.1 on a 175 shot with a performabuilt lv2 4l60e and a cheap tci 3500 converter. and ran 11.1 na full weight car with air conditon. Just to give you an idea. go with a 370 spray.
