Default New Noise.

This popped up last night while cruising around, 75% sure it could be the alternator. I just got the new alternator in two weeks ago but who knows.

Honestly that sounds valvetrain/engine-related. Pull off the belt and see if the noise disappears.

Well when up close the noise it does not sound like it is coming from the engine, but I guess anything is possible at this point. I don't have ready access to take the belt off, but I will try that tomorrow.

Took off the belt and its not the alternator. Sounds like its coming from around the area of the head, someone suggested AC Compressor? Anyone else have any ideas. To further describe the noise, it sounds like its coming from outside the engine and not an exhaust leak nor like metal on metal, but maybe plastic or a bering?

You are moving closer to confirming my suspicion of a spun bearing, unfortunately. What is your oil pressure looking like, at idle and at speed?

Sounds like a rocker arm to me. Pull your VC's off and check all the RA studs to make sure they are tight and one hasn't loosened up or even walked off.

Do what DAVE00 said. To me it sounds like rocker to push rod.

It wont be the A/C compressor if you removed belt, the pully wont be turning.

I would try to narrow down the noise using a stethiscope.
