Default how do i lift the front wheels

hey all, what would your opinions be on the minimum it would require to take a stock lt1 6spd trans am and make it lift the tires, or even just one.

i figure at least:
12bolt or 9"
wide tires
good clutch
interior weight reduction
remove front sway bar
heads and cam

anyone done it on just these simple things? or does it take a lot more...

If that is your goal then just get three things: 4.56s, slicks and skinnies, and a shot of nitrous off the line. It'll lift the wheels...well, once at least. Bring a trailor.

The question is, why? Its not the fastest way down a track, and the landing is hell on parts. Wheelies can be very expensive.

Because everyone wants at least one pic of their car wheels up! Its one of my goals. LOL!
A small wheelie would actually help, since there would be 0 rolling resistance off the line, but a big wheelie is tme wasted going up rather than forward.

If you got a 9", suspension mods, sticky tires, durable clutch, and a 150 shot off the line, you'd pick it up some no problem.

On that subject, they had a huge ad for the new Scion Xd in the center of the page a few weeks ago

I'd like to be able to lift them just a little bit someday, I'm talkin like more or less a foot off the ground. Anything more is too nuts.

rally you gotta worry most about your suspension
and a tire
get it too hook then spray it and you should have it

a set of adjustables up front
some cheap comp eng drag shocks out back
a decent LCA and relocation barackets
some subframe connectors
and some slicks and skinnies
spray it and hold on
a 4.11 or better gear would help too
it will get it up a little

You guys are going about it all wrong. Put a couple hundred pounds of sand bags behind the axle in the trunk well and wait for the fun to begin.

Here is my car, it is a LSX which helps with weight over the k frame and it makes around 380, but its a heavy car. Take a look.

You need to be able to dead hook and have a good sus thats dailed in.

You have to rember you dont want to wheelie more than a couple inchs really or it will start to hurt your times.

Friend here in the KC area, could get a few inches of air under the fronts. He had Heads/Cam. The suspension was dailed in and the Drs were hooking. The was a full wieght car btw. Good Luck.
