Default LT1 keeps going faster

I did the new CAI intake as some my or may not have seen and changed from an SS4000 to a PT4000.

intake:

best 60 with the SS was 1.41

best 60 with the PT was 1.40

I think the induction was more the gain then the stall myself.

275/60/15 M/T radials

10.62@126 N/A

I'm putting a PT4400 in this week and testing again this weekend.

That air induction system looks awesome...exactly what had been thinking. Using turbo style piping but I was never sure where to locate the filter to get the best flow. You cut the center section out of the nose, nice. Ive got my fog lights deleted and was going to use one of those holes, I was thinking. Looks like you had to make some reinforcement brackets for the nose.

Is that piping something you guys can fab up for a customer is it a one off? Is it 3in tubing?

Edit: What was your 8th mile time?

The area behind the grill was cut out when I got the car and was done kinda shitty. I cleaned up the edges the best I could so it looks fairly good + the grill hides it.

tubing is 3.5 inch

1 60 degree 1D bend ( DR. Gas )
1 45 degree bend
C6 Halltech filter

some couplers and clamps..nothing crazy.

Did you have to cut the crossmember to get the tubing to fit through your shroud?

Great ET Larry, thanks for the awsome track day. It was cool to watch all the fast LTX cars get down. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time out. I just picked my "Big Boy" tires up from Tom today and I'll be shooting you an email shortly about front shocks. Thanks again for the great day SPEED INC ROCKS!!!

I plan to be at Byron Sat. if the weather is good.

I forgot to mention the car was driven to and from the track which is a little over an hour each way.

where was the invite I am hurt…haha

how was the track prep it was amazing the last time I was up there 2 weeks ago…

what was the mph difference with converters…seems to be about the same down low…awesome comparison, can’t wait to see the results after this weekend with the PT4400...

you will be in the 40s soon enough, we havent even gotten the cold air yet...

sorry man..you are a 41 guy and did not think of you.

come out this Sat

The track was really good IMO and usually is. The old MPH before the CAI swap was 124.6. I really feel the intake was the gain over the converter. The shift extension is way off with this PT4000... 7,000 - 5900.

not knocking Dave since I guessed at my SS off the stock tach instead of logging and he built the PT around it

I can't wait to test the PT4400 and may just leave it on motor for the season since it runs good and much easier on things.

I think it has 40's in it when the weather come around later in the season.

yeah my dads shift extension was around 7000 to 6300 with the pt4400, i am glad you are getting the car to come together...it is just going faster and faster...i have some ideas for the CAI for a ram air twist...but it will be filter free/ track only...we will talk when i come in...
