thats a tough choice.......the auburn clutches will wear out and the posi won't be effective........the zexel-torsen is a bit noisy but will never wearout because it is a gear driven design...no clutches to wear out.

I would go with the auburn posi. I have it in my 02. It takes a beating and still rolling with no noise. Just my opinion.

trouble with clutch posi units is as they get some miles on them they get worn and loose......then when you really need it pulling out on a rainy road in heavy traffic yer screwed......with the torsen it will always lock up,nothing really in there that wears out

You can get the stocker sort of Torsen for near dirt.
That's one bonus. I like the T-2R on paper, but it's a
lot more green. If this is your "heavy duty Zexel" then
it has other bonuses like higher torque split and preload.

The torsen in my car is noisy because it's had the $hit beat out of it. I had an auburn in an S10 a while ago and it worked nicely, but I've never had one in an F body. Lately, it seems like a lot of the 12 bolt guys are having posi problems with LSDs.

There's OEM T2, HD T2, and then there is a T2R. They are different units.. If your going to spend the extra money, I'd get the T2R.. only place that I'm aware that sells it is Sam @ stranoparts.com

My T2R is quiet. Makes powering out of turns unbelievably nice..
