Default Can I use N20 with my F1 cam (230/226 .591/.571 112)???

I have been thinking of going down that road for a while now and I don't really want to spray a big shot, just like a 75, maybe even just a 50. I know my cam is pretty much the opposite of what a n20 cam is supposed to be with the larger intake duration and 112 lsa but would it hurt anything to spray with the aboved sized shots? should i get my car tuned down a little if i do (custom mti tuning on there now). any input would be appreciated.

Hi you might want to try the nitrous forum.

75 was almost unnoticable on my car back in the day, so a 50 might give you a slight edge if needed but not really worth the expense in my opinion. but i dont think it would hurt to spray on that cam. i spray on a tr224 112 and it works pretty good.

Speedtek ran a 300 shot with this cam and heads setup and pulled off some 6.40's @ 108mph in the 1/8th with this cam on stock shortblock -- Anyways with 25.5 degrees of timing you can run a 125shot all day with this cam.

you can use it, but from what i've heard they don't fully use a nitrous shot when compared to a traditional split cam.

This is true. Traditional split cams will generate much more TQ on nitrous opposed to a reverse split. However it won't "hurt" to spray that cam. You'll make roughly the same rwhp as a standard split would, and less TQ which isn't always a bad thing. Go for it..

Sure, nitrous works good with ANY cam...it just works better with some cams. Spray it with a 75 shot and if you want more, spray it with a 150. IMO, you shouldn't worry about a nitrous specific cam unless you're going to spray a 200-250 shot or better.

I'll move this to the N2O section.

Just sprayed it today.

Motor 410 RWHP
400 RWTQ

150 Shot 553 RWHP
Wet kit 583 RWTQ

How much more torque would I see with a different cam?
